Oceanside Power Couple Sends Their Skincare Into Space in Effort to Make the Universe a Better Place
Serial entrepreneur Shalini Vadhera co-founded Ready Set Jet Beauty alongside her husband, former Access Hollywood host Tony Potts.
Two North County founders just made history as the world’s first space-certified skincare and makeup brand to launch into orbit aboard the Axiom 4 mission.
Ready Set Jet Beauty, founded by global beauty trailblazer Shalini Vadhera and former Access Hollywood host Tony Potts, is redefining what it means to be a beauty brand with purpose. Longtime Oceanside residents, the couple is celebrating both their upcoming 15th wedding anniversary and a milestone that’s truly out of this world.
At just 19, Vadhera’s father handed her a one-way ticket to India and $1,000, encouraging her to build something extraordinary. She went from working the Clinique counter at a Carlsbad mall to becoming a celebrity makeup artist on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, launching multi-million dollar beauty brands in Sephora and QVC, and receiving the Mahatma Gandhi Award at the UK House of Lords.
She’s now channeling decades of expertise into Ready Set Jet, where ancient rituals meet biotech innovation to create skincare designed to perform in the most extreme environments, including space, but the mission goes far beyond science and beauty.
With investors behind the brand being 90% female, Ready Set Jet’s global “Pass The Baton” initiative ignited a movement of confidence, courage, and collaboration, now expanding into STEM education programs across 100+ countries to inspire the next generation of women in science, innovation, and space.
Potts, a veteran TV journalist who’s interviewed icons from Taylor Swift to Tom Cruise, brings his storytelling skills to amplify the brand’s message. Together, the couple is turning chemistry, both personal and product-based, into a launchpad for global impact.
After 16 days in orbit, their hero products successfully splashed down with the Axiom 4 crew off the coast of San Diego early Tuesday, however their mission is just getting started. With biotech-powered solutions aimed at supporting skin recovery from burn injuries, inflammation, and radiation, they’re pushing beauty into bold new frontiers.
